Reverend Dr. Rufus H. Burns

October 17, 1926 ~ May 4, 2018 (age 91)

Reverend Dr. Rufus H. Burns entered eternal rest on Friday, May 04, 2018 at Memorial University Medical Center. 

Rev. Dr. Rufus H. Burns was educated in the Chatham County Public  School System. Later in life he furthered his education by obtaining an Associate Degree in Religious Education in 1998, a Bachelor's Degree of Ministry in  2000, a  Master's Degree in Religious Education,  and a Doctorate  Degree in Ministry.  His degree's has been a great asset to his teaching and preaching the Gospel and inspiring others.

Pastor Burns served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.

Rev. Dr. Rufus H. Burns was call as Pastor of Tremont Park Missionary Baptist Church in 1961 and remained until God called him home..  He was the former pastor of Little Bryan, New Hope  and Union Branch Missionary Baptist Churches.  He has exemplified the true word of God, " I Will Make You Fishers Of Men ". For Many years he pastored all four churches at the same time.

Rev. Dr. Rufus H. Burns has Preached the Gospel for at least sixty seven years.  We can imagine that it would be best to try and please God who has given his son Jesus Christ, the key to the Kingdom to fight will all you have, never giving up , never in, never looking at the end always looking to strive to do more than enough.  The time to rest is in the Master's Hand.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Second Arnold Baptist Church 1427 E. 37th St. Savannah, GA

Interment ~ Magnolia Memorial Gardens.

The family has requested public Friday only at the funeral home.
