Mr. Norman Burns entered eternal rest on Monday, October 29, 2018 at his residence.
Norman “Barracuda” Burns Senior entered eternal rest on October 29, 2018 peacefully at his residence. He was born in Sylvania, GA. He was a life long resident of Savannah, GA. He worked various jobs and eventually opened his own general store on the Corner of Whitaker and 32nd Street for many years. Norman was a Frog Town historian, an active participant in the civil rights movement. He also participated in the SCLC under the Hose Williams and Ben Clark. Norman is proceeded in death by his parents Eugene and Marie Burns, his son Norman Burns Jr., his brothers Eugene Burns Jr., Slyvester Burns, Ted Burns, Micky Burns; and, his sisters Exodine Wilson, Rosa Bacon, Eugenia burns.
Surviving are his children Pamela Bess, Patricia Burns, Sarah E. Gardner and Andre Princeton Jackson, his sisters Cynthia Burns, Machelle Burns, Donnell Burns, Purcell Burns and Ricky Burns to include numerous grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Chapel 124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA 31401
