Linda Gail Uqdah

Mrs. Linda Gail Uqdah transitioned her earthly life on Sunday May 13, 2018 at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Sardis, Georgia on November 22, 1955 to the late Willie Davis and the late Pearlie Mae Davis. She was the eldest of two daughters. She was educated in the Chatham County School System. She was a member of the 1973 graduating class of Alfred Ely Beach.

Linda was married to Richard Jackson and from this union they had four children: Marquetta, Richard Jr., Brenda and Maranda. She was later married to Khalif S. Uqdah and from this union they had two boys: Mwanza and Khalif.

Linda was a compassionate, dedicated hard working mother. She was a giving person. She would go above and beyond to do anyone a favor. In the past she worked at Inter Marine and Georgia Pacific, at the time of her passing she was employed at Gulfstream Aerospace.

She was preceded in death by the late Khalif Salim Uqdah.

She leaves to cherish her fondest memories six loving children: Marquetta Jackson of Jacksonville, Florida, Richard Jackson Jr. (Teonna) of Cleveland, Ohio, Brenda Simmons (Anthony) of Jacksonville, Florida, Maranda Mayrant (Michael) of Jacksonville, Florida, Mwanza Abdulhaqq of Jacksonville, Florida, and Khalif Salim Uqdah IBN Khalif of Savannah, Georgia; one loving sister Betty Gean Grant (Arthur) of Savannah, Georgia; three nephews Steven Grant (Shanika) of Savannah, Georgia, Arthur Grant Jr.,of Savannah, Georgia, Michael Grant (Sarita) of Savannah, Georgia; two nieces Katina Dukes of Savannah, Georgia,  Leslie Hill (Terrance) of Savannah Georgia; one loving cousin Malenthia Frazier (Leroy) Of Savannah, Georgia; a very special adopted daughter Latisha Jackson of Jacksonville, Florida, twenty-one grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two brother-in-laws: Kevin and Darryl Jackson of Baltimore Maryland; three uncles: Arthur Williams of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Willie C. Gordon and Charles W. Gordon of Sardis, Georgia; three aunts: Ida Lou Gordon of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Catherine Scurry and Irene Nelson of Sardis, Georgia; a host of cousins, friends and colleagues.

Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Chapel 124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA 31401

Interment ~ Magnolia Memorial Gardens
