Felix Walden, Jr.

Mr. Felix Walden Jr. (Bubba), was born on August 19, 1958, in Savannah, Ga. to the late Mr. Felix and Edith “Sally” Walden Sr. He’s the oldest son of five siblings. Felix Jr. joined Fifth Street Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized in 1964, where he served faithfully on the usher board and choir ministry.  He was raised in the Cloverdale community, where he participated in the PALS football organization.

In 1977, Felix Jr. graduated from Windsor Forrest High School where he excelled in football, baseball and basketball. He faithfully coached the Omar Cobras Football team for the City of Savannah. Felix loved wrestling and he shared that passion with his daughter Taylor.

After graduating, he was employed by Union Camp and then Winn Dixie. For several years, he was employed by Piggly Wiggly as the assistant store manager. On May 23, 1988, he became an employee at Fort Howard where they changed their name to Fort James and now Georgia Pacific, as a Kirkland Signature Technician in Rincon, Ga. He was known as the “All Around Guy” and was sometimes called “Mr. GP”.  He had 30 years of dedication to the Georgia Pacific family.

On October 6, 1984, he entered into Holy Matrimony to Ms. Rosemary Taylor at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church. They became the parents of two children.

On December 25, 1985, Felix Walden Jr., joined St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church. He served faithfully as a Youth Leader. He was a member of the Men’s Choir, Knights of Columbus Council-10274, and 4th Degree Immaculate Conception Assembly.

On Friday, October 5, 2018 while celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary in New Orleans, Louisiana, he went home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Felix and Edith “Sally” Walden, Sr.; his sisters, Ms. Julia Mae Walden and Ms. Yvonne W. Hunter and father-in-law, Mr. Roosevelt Taylor, Sr.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 34 years, Mrs. Rosemary Taylor Walden. His loving children Mr. Matthew F. Walden and Ms. Taylor A. Walden.  Mother-in-law, Mrs. Catherine Taylor. Brother, Mr. Danny L. (Tina) Walden Sr. and sister Mrs. Wilhelmina (Robert) Merchinson, Three brothers-in-law, Mr. Russell (LaVerne) Taylor, Mr. Rodney (Phyllis) Taylor and Mr. Roosevelt Taylor Jr., and sister in law, Mrs. Vivian (Eric) Devore. Special nephews and niece, Mr. Isaiah (Waye) Walden, Sr, Mr. Christopher Taylor and Ms. Sally M. Walden. One Godson Akande Aidan Oladele, Godmother Margaret Westin. A host of aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

 

Rosary 6 pm Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the church.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 Friday, October 12, 2018 at

St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church
